The area surrounding Ilha do Magalhaes is know as BaÃa dos Golfinhos (Dolphin's Bay) which is a major eco-tourism destination in the Florianopolis area. Although this is a well know attraction, access is mostly by boat. Road access is asphalted, but it's a country road and not very busy.
The island also features gorgeous private beach protected by a beautiful bank of rocks.
