Lining the cliffs, the 16 Vale are situated in select, private positions offering dramatic views over Beqa lagoon. Vales at Royal Davui Fiji take on the diverse tastes of the Pacific rim - mahogany floors, thatched roofs, ceilings of sea grass, open plan layout featuring extensive use of glass and bi-folding doors to take full advantage of the stunning views. The two outdoor decks incorporate sun lounges, a dining set and an infinity edge plunge pool.

The split level bedroom/bathroom vale allows guests views of the lagoon no matter where they are in their villa and features jacuzzi spa baths, double vanity, indoor/outdoor shower, climate control airconditioning, ceiling fans and an inviting king size bed.

With a stocked mini bar, lounge settings, work desk with telephone and data port facilities, CD player and ceiling fan, the separate living vale offers guests a treat like no other in Fiji.

Weather

Royal Davui Fiji enjoys a warm tropical climate, with an average year round temperature of approximately 28 degrees Celsius (78 degrees Fahrenheit).

Visas

Most travellers to Fiji are automatically granted a four-week tourist visa on arrival. This includes travellers from most Commonwealth countries, most of North, South and the Central Americas as well as Western Europe, Israel and Japan. A current passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry is required to enter.

Fiji currency

The official currency of Fiji is the Fijian Dollar (FJD). 1$USD is approximately 1.65 FJD. All major credit cards are generally accepted in Fiji and travellers cheques can be exchanged at banks and exchange houses in the major centres.

Language

English is the official language, with Fijian and Hindustani as the most spoken tongues there after.

Innoculations

The area is free of tropical diseases such as malaria and inoculations are not required.

Time zone

Fiji time is 12 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

Population

A 2001 census counted 840 000 citizens. According to a 1998 survey 51% of the population is native Fijian, 44% Indian and the remain­der are a mix of Chinese, Pacific Islanders and Europeans. 52% of the population is Christian, 38% Hindu, 8% Muslim (2% unaccounted for).

What to wear

Though dress on resorts is laidback, visitors are encouraged to dress modestly, especially on tours to villages and when attending cultural events.
