Just off the east end of Tortola lies our little island of Marina Cay, with its small 8-bedroom hotel, restaurant and bar. Marina Cay is truly one of the most beautiful sites in the Caribbean.

It all started with the rum ...

The sea and rum are synonymous, and there's no rum more akin to the sea and the seaman than PUSSER'S. For more than 300 years, from before the days of Nelson, wooden ships and iron men, Great Britain's Royal Navy issued a daily rum ration on board Their Majesties' ships. This tradition, one of the longest in seafaring history, continued unbroken from 1655 to July 31, 1970, on which day the Navy stopped their daily issue of Pusser's rum.

In 1979, Charles Tobias formed Pusser's West Indies in the British Virgin Islands and undertook to resurrect the Pusser's Rum tradition with which he was familiar. After much persuasion, the Admiralty Board of the Royal Navy gave him the blend for the rum and shortly afterwards, Pusser's Rum was being shipped commercially for the first time. In return, the Royal Navy Sailor's Fund, a naval charity, receives a substantial donation from the sale of each case. This contribution, aside from the Fund's original bequest, is the Fund's largest source of income.

Marina Cay

There are few places like Marina Cay. The flower covered, eight-acre island is ringed by a soft, white sand beach. The island is nestled in a sheltered, emerald green, lagoon whose shallow waters are always calm and lukewarm. It is the ideal place for snorkellers to enjoy the colorful fish and sea life that inhabit the coral reef and the lagoon. The quiet lagoon and reef make Marina Cay the ideal place for vacationing families with small children who desire a natural, safe, watersports environment. Likewise, it is a wonderful place for those wishing to learn to snorkel and scuba dive. The island is also home to an award winning Pusser's Restaurant specializing in seafood and cuisine of the Caribbean.

Accommodations

All of our villas and rooms have spectacular views of the reef below and the main channel below. The villas are on the south side of the island, and the double rooms on the east side. Air conditioning is never necessary because the constantly blowing tradewinds provide fresh, cool, clean air during every hour of the day and night.

Weddings - Your Ideal Setting in the Tropics

Our Chef will consult with you personally over the menu, whether you would like a few hor d'oeurves and a champagne toast, a buffet, or a full dinner.

After the ceremony, when you want some quiet time together, take out a Sea Kayak for two or a Hobie Wave. We can provide you with a picnic lunch to take along. You can enjoy sundrenched days and romantic nights sipping tropical drinks under a starlit sky to make this the special time that you have always dreamed of.

Activities

Happy hour at the Robb White bar, atop Marina Cay, features great entertainment. With something for everyone, Pusser’s Marina Cay offers watersports, an outstanding restaurant on the beach, and a nightly BBQ on the island’s summit with its spectacular 360º view. The bar on the porch of the Robb White House features a daily Happy Hour and early entertainment. The main restaurant on the beach offers local cuisine and American and Continental standards. Each dining location has spectacular views of the sea and the anchorage. This is where you sip your Pusser's Painkiller in the gentle breeze of the evening, and relax to the soft music and the lapping of water along the beach. And it is only a 10-minute FREE ferry ride on the Pusser’s boat from near the airport to the island. Pusser's Marina Cay is home to a Pusser's Company Store that certainly has one of the prettiest locations in the Caribbean.
