Welcome to the breathtaking sanctuary of Victory Island, a majestic 12-13 acre private island conveniently located in Jervis Inlet on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. Victory Island is one of the largest, most well appointed, private islands presently available for sale on the Sunshine Coast. Victory Island is a unique opportunity to enjoy nature’s solitude and majestic beauty, without sacrificing modern conveniences and comforts.

The 1340 Sq ft cottage is designed BY B.Gordon Hlynsky Architect of West Vancouver B.C. and is solidly built. The home is fully permitted and professionally constructed and engineered. It consists of an open plan, all-view, with two large bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, and bathroom. The ample on demand hot water is provided by an easily managed Bosh system. All appliances are propane which is delivered via the Tyee Titan, a landing craft which delivers all supply needs and services to residents in the area.

A southerly exposed wrap around deck envelopes the perimeter of the home which extends safely over the calm, weather protected bay. The crystal clear water is warm for swimming in the summer months. The home is built to allow for sun from sunrise to sunset. The sunsets are soleil sans fin!

Victory Island consists of hemlock, cedar, and Douglas Fir old growth trees, and over 200 Arbutus trees adorn the island. Arbutus (the Spanish name Madrone, meaning strawberry tree) are native to temperate regions of coastal islands as well as North America. Arbutus thrive on a coast where there is ample and consistent sun exposure.

Victory boasts a deep 350 ft well that produces wholesome water year round. The purist of water is reliably pumped out of the well into two large, secure holding tanks which gravity feed down to the fully equipped, professionally engineered utility building, where it is pressurized to provide water to the modern appliances and facilities in the home. The utility building serviceably holds low maintenance solar storage batteries. All lighting is LED. A large biofuel generator is also available, though it is never engaged - as there is ample power for daily demands. Guests to Victory can enjoy satellite TV and internet, allowing rustic beauty and charm to interface with modern convenience (and safety!).

The dock floats are fully permitted, professionally engineered concrete construction and installation. The docks are designed to accommodate a helicopter, and can safely moor a 70 ft plus vessel, still allowing for additional moorage space beyond. The alloy foot ramp to the dock is 6 ft wide and can safely withstand cargo while being wheelchair accessible.

Spot prawns are abundant within 2 minutes by boat from the dock - floats for prawn traps are visible from the cottage! Additionally, excellent Salmon fishing is a stone's throw away. Victory Island also has naturally, well established, sustainable oyster and clam beds for sumptuous enjoyment . Orca whales and humpback whales frequent the area, and can often be spotted right from magnificent deck.

Victory Island is situated to the Northwest side of Hardy Island where a significant number of our American neighbours enjoy summer homes and cottages. Victory is located across from the Saltery Bay, BC Ferry Terminal (a 5 min boat voyage to arrange guests). Parking is available adjacent to an accessible public dock at Saltery Bay, for a 20 minute vehicle commute to the township of Powell River, for provisions and necessities. Powell River is a very well appointed coastal municipality, together with major retail outlets, hospital, and metropolitan conveniences. Floatplane and/or take a water taxi/boat are readily available; floatplane consisting of a 25-30 minutes flight from Vancouver Harbour or Richmond (Vancouver International Airport - South Terminal -Fraser River).

Victory Island is a favoured route for ship and recreational adventurers to travel in BC’s Pacific Northwest, and those vessels are well within distant view, as they navigate the northern portion of Malaspina Strait. The current owners have enjoyed visits from guest vessels large and small during their tenure here, and are anticipating the new owners of this paradise to continue this stewardship with all of the outstanding, one-of-a-kind features Victory Island offers to those fortunate to set foot on her shores and her expansive natural beauty.

Victory Island is a place to behold, a gem - a country within a country.
